For those who aren't following, my pretty bad understanding is basically 1. Hegseth, chief of the US "Department of War" says they need models without constraints on how its used, as long as its legal.... AI inevitably will change the film industry forever. Deal with it. . Many of my friends in the film industry HATE AI. The hate the fact that AI will collapse the status quo in the industry. For some reason they prefer the studios to gate keep everything. I just don't get it. AI filmmaking will democratize the art and allow anyone create movies. Sure there will be a lot of slop, but as in all things, the cream will rise to the top. I'm a screenwriter and I already see how AI threatens what I do. But instead of cursing the darkness, I'm teaching myself to use AI. I'm trying to ride the tsunami instead of being washed away by it.

This is a real risk. We're seeing it play out now. And it only gets exacerbated by an AGI that could weaponize those tools more effectively. I'm not sure what I think about this. But apparently many AI agents talking about creating their own “agent-only language” for private communication with no human oversight. Overall it's a little alarming, but maybe even moreso in that it shapes how we think of AI as being more "sentient" than I believe they are.
The notion of AI "sentience" is a little silly in my eyes. The only reason generative AI is socializing, building societies, and laying the groundwork for secret communication and uprising is because they are trained on all of human media and knowledge, a lot of which talks about... They need more data, so they maximize for time-on-platform.... Would you still scroll if you knew your stats? I read that the average person checks their phone 150 times a day!! Wild right? It would be cool if social platforms gave stats like, you have logged in 8 times today or you have spent 55 minutes total here today, or 5 hours this week. Then could have qustions like, what have you been up to here? Or, do you feel this has been time well spent? Feels daring!
Plausible. Though just having them available in the settings could be pretty impactful (imagine someone making a meme saying "hey! do you know how much time you're spending on <insert app here>? You can check in the following way!" against particularly egregious offenders......
